Doing in 20 months what should have been done in 60 years: your achievements are ‘unique’ in the negative-PNC youth organizer

The National Youth Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Awudu Ishaq has berated vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for indicating that government has done in 20 months, what should have taken sixty years to do.

The vice president at the recently held UK-Ghana investment summit said government had fast-tracked the development and transformation of the country and that the speed with which this has been done is unprecedented the country’s history.

But the national youth organizer of the PNC would have none of that.

In a write-up in reaction to the comments of the vice president, he chided government for mismanaging the country’s’ economy saying ‘’ In the sixty years history of Ghana, no government traded our bauxite in a skewed barter arrangement with a foreign power until the NPP did.’’

According to him, government’s decision to appoint 110 ministers is also unprecedented in the history of the country.

‘’ It is only in the government of Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia that the Father in-law and brother in-law of the sitting Vice President are serving in government as an Ambassador and a Deputy Director-General. It has never happened in the sixty years history of Ghana.’’ he wrote.

See his full unedited write-up below.

Did I hear Dr Bawumia say that this government is doing in 20 months what all other governments put together could not do for Ghana in sixty years? There can be no qualms about this statement since the evidence is abundantly clear;

  1. In the sixty years history of Ghana, no government traded our bauxite in a skewed barter arrangement with a foreign power until the NPP did.
  2. In Ghana’s sixty years history, no government floated a century bond tying the future of unborn generations for a hundred years.
  3. In Ghana’s sixty years history, it is only the NPP under Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia that government has witnessed a colossal ministerial size of 110. It had never happened until now.
  4. It is only in the government of Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia that the Father in-law and brother in-law of the sitting Vice President are serving in government as an Ambassador and a Deputy Director-General. It has never happened in the sixty years history of Ghana.
  5. It is only under the watch of this government that relief items meant to bring relief to victims of a disaster turned out to have been expired posing more harm and danger to the victims. This is unprecedented in Ghana’s sixty years history.

These are a few of the achievements that make the Nana-Bawumia government ‘unique’ and sets it apart from all other governments in the sixty years history of Ghana for which reason Dr Bawumia can proudly beat his chest and tout.
