The dethroned Emir of Kano in Nigeria, Sanusi Lamidu Sanusi says his dethronement is the will of God and that he is not oblivious of the fact that the throne is not permanent.

The Governor of Kano yesterday, Monday, March 9, 2020, ordered the dethronement of the Emir who is also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The state government accused Emir Sanusi of violating the rules of engagement of his office and obstructing investigations of graft instituted against him.

But in what appears to be his final address to his elders, Emir Sanusi opined that “The throne of an Emir is not permanent, every king and leader should know this. If it was a permanent throne, I wouldn’t have been the Emir of Kano.’’

BestNewsGH.com reports him as indicating that ‘’Before I came someone was Emir and before him someone else was there. Whenever God says your time on the throne is over, if you don’t leave with your legs, people will carry your body out of the palace. It is God that gives power and it is God that takes power.”

BestNewsGH.com can confirm that following the dethronement, the Emir of Bichi, Aminu Ado Bayero has been announced as the new Emir of Kano.

Mr. Sanusi Lamidu Sanusi has since been sent to exile in neighboring Nasarawa State.
