COVID-19: Poultry farmers in Upper West Region donates 82 crates of eggs towards fight

The Upper West Regional branch of the Ghana National Poultry Farmer Association have donated some poultry products to the Regional Coordinating Council as their contribution towards the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The group donated some 82 crates of eggs to the Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin-Salih at the forecourt of the Regional Coordinating Council at a brief but impressive ceremony.

BestNewsGH.com reports the Association’s Regional Chairman, Mr. Tornia Abu Sidiki as explaining that the donation was their contribution towards the welfare of patients in the region who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

According to him they are particular about the nutritional needs of the patients, adding that eggs as a source of protein will help boost the immune system of the patients and aid in their recovery.

The group encouraged the generality of the Ghanaian people to eat eggs in order to fortify themselves against the spread of the virus.

The Regional Minister on his part, thanked the group for the donation and opined that the eggs will be distributed across the districts in the Region.

While appealing to the general  public and public spirited individuals for support to contain the pandemic in the Region, Dr. Bin Salih assured that the eggs will be used for the purpose for which they were donated.
