The Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Golf City in the Tema North District under the Meridian Ghana Conference on Monday 20th April 2020, distributed food items to its members to cushion them after the lifting of the three-week partial lockdown in the Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi Metropolitan areas.

The items include bags of rice, cooking oil and gari.

BestNewsGH.com reports the first Elder of the Church, Elder Abednego Osei who presented the food items to the members in a brief ceremony, as admonishing the Church members never to lose faith in the Lord in these challenging times and asked members to keep praying for deliverance from the Covid-19 pandemic.

He stated that the presentation is the Church’s windows mite to members in the midst of the pandemic to support Church members especially the needy and less privileged.

Elder Oswald Agyei-Boateng who assisted in the distribution advised members to stick to the social distancing and other sanitary protocols to help curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Elder Oswald was optimistic that the presentation will go a long way to relieve members after being kept indoors for three weeks.

The Church members expressed their appreciation to the leadership of the church for their thoughtful gesture.

It will be recalled that, the president of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo imposed restrictions on movement in the Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi Metropolitan areas as part of measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country which affected several houses holds and the economy in general, hence the Church’s decision to alleviate the hardship caused by the lockdown on its members.
