The Northern Regional Police Command has confirmed a break-in at the Doboya police station by suspected armed robbers.
Northern regional police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mohammed Yussif Tanko who confirmed the incident said two AK 47 assault rifles and one short gun where stolen during the break in.
According to him, the officer incharge at the police station when the incident occurred is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.
He said the regional police commander has issued a directive to all police stations within his jurisdiction to be on the lookout for the perpetrators of the dastardly act, adding that he has also instructed that security be beefed up along the highways in the area in order to quell any robbery attack that may arise.
DSP Mohammed Tanko opined that the regional police command has taken the issue seriously and is leaving no stone unturned to unearth and apprehend the culprits.
