The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasized that building a united Ghana with equal opportunities for all Ghanaians remains his top priority if elected President.

During a courtesy call on the Chief of the Ashaiman Ewe Community and his elders, as part of his campaign tour of the Constituency on Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia stated his vision for a Ghana where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of ethnic or religious backgrounds.

“Building one Ghana with opportunity for all is my priority,” Dr. Bawumia said.

“I don’t see religion when I look at people. I don’t see tribe when I look at you. When I look at everybody, I see a human being like me,” he added.

Dr. Bawumia urged the Ewe community in Ashaiman and the nation as a whole to support his bid, assuring them of his commitment to also being a leader for the vulnerable in society.

“If you look at my body of work, I try so much to extend a helping hand to the vulnerable in society,” he said.

He pointed to his role as patron of the Lepers Council in Ghana and his advocacy for sickle cell and kidney patients, among others, as evidence of his passion for supporting disadvantaged groups.

Dr. Bawumia also assured the community that he would not take their support for granted. As part of his inclusive development policies, he pledged to ensure that their needs, as well as those of the Ashaiman community, are addressed.
