The drummer of the senior national team, Joseph Langabel has revealed that he has been able to stay in the midst of players of the team because he is not a thief and has never stolen from any player.
According to him, that trait is what has endeared him to almost all the players, both locally and internationally.
Mr. Langabel is seen as the key architect of the senior national team’s jama songs both on and off the pitch and is always an integral part of the teams’ foreign travels.
He is reputed to be the cook of the team most of the time when they are on foreign trips for games, particularly in countries where it is difficult to get Ghanaian food.
‘’When we went to Egypt, you know the players are supposed to get good food to eat, but the hotel food was some way. So that time I will ask Jordan Anaglah or FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and they will give me money and I will go to the Ghana embassy and find out where I can get the ingredients and I will go and buy them and prepare fantastic light soup for them’’ he said.
Speaking on Accra based United Television, Mr. Langabel opined that ‘’they love me because I am not a thief. If I had ‘long hands’ by now they would have told the big men to fire me. It is because of them I am there. If today they say they don’t like me, who am I”.
