Asiedu Nketia is a novice in law and interpreting the constitution, ignore him-Information Minister

The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has impressed upon the generality of the Ghanaian public to ignore assertions by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia that the commission of inquiry set up by government to inquire into the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency disturbances is a fake commission.

According to him, Mr. Asiedu Nketia who claims to have an in-depth knowledge in the constitution of Ghana, lacks understanding of same and does not have a grasp of how to intemperate sections of the constitution.

According to Ofuase/Ayirebi Member of Parliament, Mr. Asiedu Nketia’s assertion that the setting up of a commission of inquiry requires a constitutional instrument that will last 21 days to mature is wholly false, explaining that not all constitutional instruments requires such duration to mature.

According to him, the CI setting up the Emile Short Commission of inquiry is ready and dated 6th February 2019 and is effective.

“As I speak with you I have the commission of inquiry into the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election Constitutional Instrument 2019. It is dated 6th of February 2019. The commission of inquiry CI that has been issued is by the command of the president under the signature of the Vice President and so as a matter of fact, the Constitutional Instrument has been issued, dated and gazetted and it has been established in law” he said on Accra based Okay Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com
