Africa: Nigeria is the world’s headquarters for extreme poverty-Former president Goodluck Jonathan

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has described Nigeria as the world’s headquarters for extreme poverty.

Mr. Jonathan who took to his Facebook page a while ago to congratulate his former vice president and newly elected presidential candidate for the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, said ‘’I am convinced that you are the man to take Nigeria from being the world’s headquarters for extreme poverty to being the global hub for prosperity and happiness. Congratulations’’

He expressed confidence that the Nigerian people will elect Mr. Abubakar as the country’s next president in the 2019 elections.

Mr. Atiku Abubakar will contest incumbent president Muhamadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Both candidates are Muslims, they are both from the north of the country and both in their seventies. President Buhari is 74 years old while Mr. Atiku is 71 years old.
