Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) in the Ashanti Region have been directed to contribute 1 thousand Ghana Cedis each on a monthly basis to fund  activities of the ruling New Patriotic Party  including paying monthly stipends of serial callers of the party.

Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah who is entangled in a brawl with the serial callers, emanating from accusations by the serial callers that the Minister has neglected them, said he has directed that the MMDCE’s to make the contribution to run the party machinery.

The Minister who is pained by what he said is vain propaganda against him, said he has done everything possible to ensure that the party communicators operate in a comfortable manner.

‘’My only crime is that I have instructed that all the DCE’s in the region should contribute 1 thousand Ghana cedis every month. My deputy will also contribute 1 thousand cedis and I will pay 2 thousand cedis so that we can fund party activities because the party office pays utility bills. Who do we expect to do that? And I directed that every serial caller should be paid a monthly stipend of 200 cedis and an additional 150 cedis to each one of them to purchase recharge cards. That is my crime’’ he said on Accra based Okay Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com.

The regional Minister described the serial callers as ungrateful, adding that they are on a mission to discredit him and soil his hard earned reputation.
