Meridian Port Services (MPS) has taken delivery of brand new state-of-the-art modern gantry cranes at the Tema Port expansion project site.
The cranes arrived at the port on Thursday 20th December 2018.
Chief Executive Officer of MPS Mohammed Samara says the arrival of the new cranes is expected to create new jobs, enhance the skills of employees and will further strengthen the Tema Port as the most efficient and modern gateway for cargo in the region and enhance its role as an economic growth engine.
Detailing the specifications of new cranes, Mr. Samara said ‘’the STS cranes stand at a towering height of 89 meters and 134 meters high when boomed up, equivalent to 32 stories building and 50 stories when boomed up. Like tall skyscrapers, the Cranes can be viewed from a far distance within Tema Township’’.
