General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has told the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) off, telling it to appoint and work with its own electoral commission chairperson and commissioner if they insist they can’t work with the current Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Jean Mensah and the commissioners.

According to him, the NPP has worked with all the electoral commission chairpersons who were appointed by the NDC saying ‘’the NDC had the opportunity to appoint Ofori Boateng, Dr. Kwadjo Afari Gyan and Mrs. Charlotte Osei, this is the only time that the NPP has had the chance to appoint a chairperson for the commission and you say you can’t work with the person, you can choose otherwise’’.

Mr. John Boadu noted that the NPP is fixated at whatever move the EC is making and that they will endeavor as a party to scrutinize every move they make to ensure that they are kept abreast with happenings there.

‘’We will continue to monitor the activities of the EC every step of the way. If they fall short on the way or make any move that is not in conformity with what it is supposed to be, we will criticize them. We are not going to lose focus at all with the machinations of the NDC. After all elections are won at the polling stations’’ he added.
