LUKE 17:14-18
We have all had ungrateful negative people in our lives. People who are so mean; the only thing boldly written in their lives is “INGRATITUDE”.
One thing you probably don’t know is that, “ingratitude, grumbling and murmuring are just as addictive as crack, cocaine or tramadol. Many believers have picked up the habit of complaining years ago and even though they are filled with the Holy Spirit, they still do it day after day. They have become so addicted to grumbling, complaining and murmuring that, “even when they are expressing gratitude, they do it with complaints and grumbling”. “Can you believe this”; “the preacher is preaching too long”. “Waww! I love service today, but the worship was too slow”. Are you familiar with such statements?
Ungrateful people seem to think we are put on earth to serve them or fix their mess. Ungrateful people, with a heart of ingratitude expect you to help them everyday, but never seem to get back to you to say “Thank You For Your Assistance”. They are never happy, and are never content with their life. They use circumstances as an excuse to show ingratitude to God and others. “How can I be grateful and thankful when the bills are piling up; I have no job; my company is planning layoff”. “What am I grateful for”? “I have been married for five years without a child; my marriage is crumbling and I have no inner joy”. Often, these are some of the reasons behind some believers ungrateful hearts. One thing is assured dear reader, God’s love for us is settled, and no amount of storm can change God’s mind concerning you.
Paul writes; “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ( Romans 8:35)
“The Israelites looked up, there were the Egyptians, marching after them”. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt….( Exodus 14:10-11). But in the midst of their fear, perplexity and confusion, God showed up. Never let any situation stop you from being GRATEFUL.
“Ungrateful people are forgetful people”. The only thing they will never forget is the “one time” you couldn’t help. Whether it was because of time constraints or due to circumstances beyond your control, they don’t care. They will not even bother to find out why you couldn’t help them this one time. They will hold this guilt against you until the end of time. We must be grateful to God for what He did yesterday and show gratitude, to people for what He did for us in time past; then we can anticipate better things for tomorrow.
We all need help, but if someone is unable to help you because of certain circumstances, be humble enough to thank the person for his or her effort; because once upon a time, that person helped you.
To be cont.
Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
