The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, (GNPC) is expected to submitted a response on inconsistencies contained in reports it earlier submitted to the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) on how it utilised the controversial 7.5 million dollars today.
PIAC gave the Corporation up to today to respond to queries raised on the inconsistencies on how the amount was spent.
PIAC chairman, Dr. Steve Manteaw said the committee had to seek further clarification on the matter based on the fact GNPC initially told it that the amount was spent on acquiring or purchasing some landed property.
According to him, GNPC later submitted some documents on the same subject which indicated that the money was rather used to refurbish the Corporation’s landed properties, a situation that triggered the request for further details on processes and procedures that led to the acquisition or the refurbishment.
He explained on Accra based Okay Fm that the committee gave GNPC up to today to furnish it with the response, based on which an investigation will be conducted and the findings made public.
