Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) strongman and former deputy Minister for health in the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Rojo Mettle Nunoo says he declined to give any information to the Multimedia journalists who came up with the report of the diversion of the funds for the NDC election 2016 research.

According to him, a journalist on that beat called him and sought the information from him, but he absolutely declined to give out any information because he did not know what the motive was.

Accra based Joy Fm a couple of days ago released a report of a research  that was conducted by an international research firm, which findings revealed that the NDC then in power diverted some 6 million dollars out of a 175 million dollar facility earmarked for the construction of some selected district hospitals across the country.

The NDC has since denied the accusation and said the research was in connection with the hospitals that were to be built.

Some party communicators and executives including the party’s national organizer, Kofi Adams, lampooned the reputable media organization for failing to interview Mr. Rojo Mettle Nunoo who was in charge of the project and indeed sanctioned it.

But Mr. Mettle Nunoo has confirmed that indeed he was contacted for his side of the story and that he out rightly declined to oblige the media house and refused to give them any information.

‘’One journalist tried to talk to me and I wasn’t sure of what the motive of all the things he was trying to do was so I totally declined to give him any information because one can play a lot of mischief with social study. I mean when statistical service collects data on farm gate prices, one would think that it is to monitor inflation but does it capture food losses of the farmers in addition to the prices on the market, does it? So until you go behind to find out the real problem of the farmer, you’re just doing a one sided research’’ he argued on a local radio station in Accra and monitored by BestNewsGH.com
