Ashanti Region: Kumasi to host 63rd Independence day parade

Government has chosen Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, as the venue for the 63rd independence anniversary day celebration.

According to the Chairman of the planning committee of the Independence Day Celebration, Laud Commey, the event which will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 6th March 2020 is to mark the 63rd anniversary since Ghana attained independence.

Last year’s edition of the event was held in the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale.

BestNewsGH.com can confirm that dignitaries to grace the occasion include the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Keith Christopher Rowley, who will be the special guest of honour for the function.

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other dignitaries will also grace the occasion.

Mr. Laud Commey said the theme for this year’s Independence Day Celebration is ‘Consolidating Our Gains’.
