25-year old lady who stabbed a pregnant woman to death in Kumasi arrested; to appear in court today

The Police in Suntreso, a suburb of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital have arrested a 25-year old lady for stabbing a pregnant woman to death.

The suspect, Adwoa Bawumia stabbed the 22-year old pregnant Akosua Ataa on Sunday evening following an altercation between the two.

Akosua Ataa was 7 months pregnant.

BestNewsGH.com sources say the altercation began when the deceased approached the suspect to enquire from her, why she slapped her mother earlier in the day.

In the course of the scuffle according the source, the suspect drew a knife with which she stabbed Akosua Ataa in the neck.

On reaching the Suntreso Government Hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.

The suspect, according to the Suntreso District Police Commander, Mr. Richmond Akwasi Yeboah, will be arraigned before court today, Thursday, May 28, 2020.
