The parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Tamale Central Constituency Dr. Ibrahim Anyars has started in earnest, his campaign to snatch the seat from the NDC in the 2020 parliamentary elections with a tour of youth groups in the constituency, BestNewsGH.com can report.

Dr. Anyars who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer for the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO) is contesting the Tamale Central seat for the second time after giving the NDC’s Inusah Fuseini a run for his money in the 2016 elections, is hoping to be second time lucky.

BestNewsGH.com can confirm that his tour of the youth groups started in Zorgbeli where he interacted with five groups and is expected to visit the over hundred groups in the constituency.

At each of the meetings with the groups, Dr. Anyass appealed to them to bury their differences and support his campaign and that he alone cannot carry the burden of campaigning.

BestNewsGH.com reports Dr. Anyars as telling one of the groups known as Al-Qaeeda that, “if you abandon me in this campaign, I will be like a mentally ill person who walks alone without friends and family or a chief without subjects. So please let us put aside our differences and walk together as a unit to rescue this constituency.”

On concerns raised by the youth regarding jobs, The NABCO CEO allayed the anxiety of the youth groups by saying, “as a government we are working to ensure we tackle as many challenges concerning the youth of this country which includes jobs for you. Though we cannot tackle all the problems at a go, we will ensure the challenges are tackled for us all to smile”.

On their part the youth groups called on the leadership of the ruling party to avail themselves to them so that they can easily channel their grievances to them. They expressed worry at how distant some leaders have become and warned that it may have dire consequences for the party.
