The National Coordinator of the One District One Factory (1D1F) programme, Gifty Ohene Konadu has indicated that investigations into the robbery incident which took place at the national secretariat of the programme last week, is progressing steadily.

According to her, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has taken over the investigations, adding that all efforts is being made to apprehend the robbers who were said to have made away with several flat screen television sets, desktop computers plus some valuable documents.

She said indications are that the culprits will be apprehended very soon saying ‘’they are working round the clock and I see the enthusiasm with which they are going about the investigations and that has made me relaxed. Because it is progressing very well’’.

According Madam Gifty Konadu, she trusts the police CID to do a good job, adding that ‘’we are confident that very soon the good news will be announced to the generality of the Ghanaian people’’.

Armed robbers last week broke into the national secretariat of the One District One Factory at dawn and ransacked the entire secretariat, making away with several computers and television sets.

How the robbers were able to outwit the military personnel who were on guard duties at the premises remain unclear, even though there are suggestions there are several entry points to the offices.

It is believed they used the back entrance of the building to gain access to the facility.

The national coordinator announced on the day of the incident that no cash was stolen as they do not keep cash in the office.
