The Excavator evacuation unit of the inter-ministerial committee on small scale and illegal mining on Thursday December 6 2018 busted some 16 Chinese illegal miners in the Krobo Forest.
The operation was led by Warrant Officer Class 1 Odei Nyarko.
Items retrieved from the suspects who have since been handed to the Obuasi Police included 14 pump action guns, 1 M16 gun, 200 cartridges,5 cutlasses, 30 excavators, 2 catapillars and 45 thousand Ghana Cedis.
There were Ghanaian accomplices who have also been handed over to the police for investigations to be conducted.
