Management of Databank has refuted recent claims in the media that it is dealing in gold collectibles.

A statement issued in Accra by Gillian Hammah, Group Chief Marketing Officer of Databank, said, “We would like to assure our customers and the Ghanaian public that this claim is false.

“We are not licensed to deal in gold collectibles, have never done so, and do not intend to deal in gold collectibles,” it added.

The statement said Databank was a professional investment bank that was licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission Ghana (SEC) to sell shares, treasury bills and bonds, as well as manage mutual funds, pension and institutional funds.

It said they remain committed to their core mandate of managing the funds of their investors in prudent ways that were sustainable over the long term, as well as providing financial education to all Ghanaians.

Databank assured all clients and the public that they have not and would not engage in any practices that compromise their commitment.
