UWR: NPP Regional Chairman tours media houses in Wa

The Upper West Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. SB Kangbere began a tour of the media houses in the Upper West Region yesterday, Monday,January 27, 2020.

BestNewsGH.com is informed that the visit was aimed at parting the media on the back for the good job they are doing and to impress upon them to be circumspect in the in their work, while ensuring that they churn out content that unites, rather than divides.

This portal is told by the NPP Regional Communications Director, Bukari Ali that Mr. Kangberee and his team first stopped at W-FM where he met and interacted with the management and staff of the station.

He proceeded to Radio Mak, then to Radio WAA. From Radio WAA Chairman Kangbere and his team stopped at Sunmaale Radio. The next stops from Sunmaale were Radio Progress and Home Radio respectively.

In all the stations, Mr SB Kangberee thanked the workers for the good work they’ve been doing to help build a peaceful and prosperous society. He assured them of NPP’s commitment to peace and development.

At all his stops, he was told that was the first time any regional Chairman from any political party had paid them any such visit. They thanked him sincerely for the honour done them.

The media, which he referred affectionately to as the fourth estate, was admonished to run programmes that’ll engender peace and foster unity amongst the people of the Upper West Region.

The NPP Regional Communications Director, BestNewsGH.com can report, explained that Mr. Kangberee in his usual elements, said amidst smiles, that he is among those in the departure hall of life, while the workers who are largely youth are in the arrival hall. He encouraged them to be measured in their utterances when they sit behind the console so that what they say or do, does not spark fire.

He advised them to run social-economic programmes that’ll bring about development to the people of the region.

He used the opportunity to remind them of the 7th December 2020 general elections and the heat election years are associated with. He advised them to be circumspect in what they say so that the year will be different from other election years in the past.

On their part, the media houses thanked Chairman Kangberee for the initiative and assured him of practicing responsible journalism. All of them said they aren’t politically affiliated to any side of the divide and assured him of ensuring balance in their line of work.
