UWR: Badingu, Ripples of Hope donates 2 thousand books, school bags and more to schools in Wa West

Budding Musician from the Upper West Region, Ibrahim Moomin Badingu has donated some educational materials to two schools in the Wa West District of the region.

The donation includes 2 thousand exercise books, pens, pencils  and school bags among others, as a way of helping to improve the standard of education the area.

Speaking to BestNewsGH.com from the Wa West District right after the donation on Friday, January 31, 2020,  Ras Badingu as the Musician is popularly known, said he was touched by the level of poverty and deprivation in the area and the lack of educational materials for the pupils to learn.

He told BestNesGH.com that ‘’sometimes teachers have to use part of their salaries to buy books and other materials to motivate and encourage pupils to attend school.’’

According to him, he got in touch with the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ‘Ripples Of Hope’’, Madam Agartha Orleans, who bought into the idea and financed the cost of printing the 2,000 books, as well as the purchase of pens and pencils among other material for the two schools.

The beneficiary schools are the Kantu Primary School and the Wechaiu Islamic Primary School, all in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.

Mr. Badingu added that as a son of Wa West, he will endeavor to contribute his quota to ensure an enhanced and improved life for the people of the area.
