BestNewsGH.com can confirm that the Swedru Circuit Court hearing the car robbery case involving an official of the National Disaster Management Organisation in the Central Region has been adjourned to the 30th of December 2019.

The NADMO official, Dauglas Hammond together with two armed robbers Maxwell Bortey and  Vince Gadagasu appeared in the Court Yesterday, December 18, 2019 in connection with the robbery of a Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla salon cars.

The reason for the adjournment according BestNewsGH.com sources is that the judge was among those promoted by the President to the office of a High Court Judges and so was not available to hear the case.

The suspects have since been sent back for detention in police custody.

It will be recalled that this Website earlier reported that Mr. Hammond who is said to be an Executive member of one of the biggest political parties in the Cape Coast North Constituency was due to appear in the court alongside some armed robbers who have been arrested for stealing two cars, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corrola.

A third suspect, Eric Sena is said to be at large and being hunted by the police.

Information available to BestNewsGH.com indicates that Mr. Hammond has been noted for allegedly receiving stolen cars from armed robbers and facilitating the sale of these vehicles.

His cover was however blown when the two armed robbers were arrested for robbing a Toyota Camry salon car belonging to one Mrs. Josephine Bisung bearing registration number CR 9615-19 in her house in Winneba, prompting investigations which led to the arrest of Mr. Hammond.

This portal is informed that the husband of the robbery victim, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Emmanuel Bisung was the one who lodged a complaint with the police in Winneba leading to arrest of the suspects.

This website has been informed by some of the police officers involved in the matter that they, together with the robbery victims have been receiving threats from Mr. Hammond’s superiors and other top politicians who are calling for the release of the suspect.

For example, one Mr Essel who is said to be a close friend of Mr. Hammond and who doubles as an executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Cape Coast has allegedly been harassing the police to release Mr. Hammond from their custody.

BestNewsGH.com is keenly following this case and will keep readers posted on any further developments.
