The election which was held on Friday, November 22, 2019 saw Professor Yaw Ameyaw and Professor Dominic Mensah polling 110 and 63 votes respectively across all the four campuses of the University.

The High Court in Winneba presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo, earlier on Monday 18th November 2019, threw out an injunction and certiorari applications filed by a certain Frimpong Kaakyire Duku, against the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Mr. Frimpong Kaakyire Duku had sought to challenge the Vice-Chancellor’s power to nominate three candidates for the position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The ruling by the High Court then paved the way for the holding of the election which culminated in the election of Professor Birinkorang as the Pro-Vice Chancellor.
