The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has banned its communicators from patronizing Wontumi TV and Wontumi Radio, owned by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
BestNewsGH.com reports the Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, Augustus Andrews as explaining that the move is in protest against the incessant attacks on the person of former President and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, by Chairman Wontumi.
A statement issued by the Ashanti Regional NDC and signed by Mr. Andrews said Wontumi Radio and TV stations are nothing but propaganda machines fashioned to attack the leaders of the NDC.
The statement read in part that “It is our considered opinion that the said Radio/TV station is nothing but a propaganda machine to further attack the leaders of the National Democratic Congress and no NDC communicator should be seen to be participating or giving credibility to such an unholy enterprise.”
