The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mr. Samuel Awuku has won the Public Sector Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with Community Presence award at the maiden edition of ‘A Night with CEOs and Business Leaders’ held over the weekend.
The award comes on the back of the monumental and outstanding work being carried out by the National Lottery Authority’s Good Causes Foundation across the country, under the guidance and direction of Mr. Awuku.
Undoubtedly, the NLA through its Corporate Social Responsibility Unit, the Good Causes Foundation has been at the forefront of championing development in communities across the country and has within the period of Mr. Awuku’s stewardship made a huge and significant impact in the communities it has reached.
‘’Our ultimate goal is to ensure the development of communities across the country, to better the lives of residents of these communities and to allow for the effective function of all facets of the lives of the people.’’ Mr. Awuku opined in a remark to BestNewsGH.com after receiving the award.
Mr. Awuku who expressed joy at the recognition given to himself, the NLA and the Good Causes Foundation, intimated the resolve of the Authority to continue to embark on projects and initiatives that ameliorates the plight of the generality of the Ghanaian people.
The affable and phenomenal Director-General of the NLA dedicated the award to what he described as the ‘’hardworking team at the NLA Good Causes Foundation.’’
The Good Causes Foundation’s initiatives in the various communities covers the areas of Health, Education, Youth and Sports Development as well as Arts and Culture among others.
The maiden edition of ‘A Night with CEOs and Business Leaders’ was under the auspices of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Accra.
