The National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has declined an offer to be made the Apagyahene of the Mampong Akuapem Traditional Area.

‘’I owe you a lot and I will continue to support in which ever way I can in the development of the area. I remain eternally grateful for your kind understanding of my current situation and inability to go through the chieftaincy process at this stage of my political development. I am sure at the right time, God will make things beautiful for me and the narrative will change.” he said.

Mr. Awuku cites political reasons for his inability to accept the revered position and believes at the right time, God will lead the way and direct him.

He has however assured that he will continue to lend his support for the development of the area.
