Sammi Awuku commissions basketball and volleyball courts; cuts sod for more projects in Akuapem North

Leading Member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Samuel Awuku has fulfilled a promise he made to Okuapeman Senior High School some eight months ago, to construct a basketball and volleyball courts for them.

On Friday, December 8, 2023, Mr. Awuku made good his promise to the school, by commissioning the two brand new facilities which have been completed in the school.

Mr. Awuku who is the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority is the presumptive NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Akuapem North Constituency as he is deemed to be going unopposed. He was the only one to have filed his nomination to contest the primaries as at the close of nomination.

According to the iconic, young and affable politician, he is excited at the opportunity to help shape the nation’s future leaders through the provision of such facilities to aid in honing their sports skills, while fostering teamwork.

‘’In keeping with a promise made 8 months ago during a program at Okuapeman Senior High School, I commissioned newly built basketball and volleyball courts at the school. I am excited that we are able to provide students with a platform to hone their sports skills and foster teamwork.’’ Mr. Awuku pointed out.

Mr. Awuku after commissioning the basketball and volleyball courts, went ahead to cut sod for the construction of two 16-seater restroom facilities in Larteh.

According to him, the facilities will serve two communities, culminating in improved sanitation while providing comfort and convenience to the residents.

Beyond that, Mr. Awuku also inspected progress of work on an ongoing 20-seater restroom facility for the larger Larteh township.

He explained that the community will very soon have access to even better facilities to enhance their way of life.

Mr. Awuku expressed his profound gratitude to members of the community, the school and all others whose collective support contributed in no small measure towards achieving such success.

Joining him for the commissioning and sod-cutting, were Chiefs and traditional leaders, religious leaders, school management members, constituency party leaders and supporters and the larger community members.
