Today is car-free day in Rwanda and the president Paul Kagame joined hundreds of residents to exercise and network in the capital, Kigali.
The president took to his Facebook page to announce the day, urging his fellow countrymen to help uphold the culture and do more to build themselves and the country.
The car-free day in Rwanda is a bi-monthly event during which day no resident is allowed to drive.
The streets are cleared of all vehicles and resident trek all day.
The president wrote “Turning up for Car Free Day isn’t only about physical exercises. We should uphold this culture and do even more to build ourselves and our country. Whenever we are working to improve our lives, we are also building our country.”
