Photos: Construction of 1 District 1 Warehouse progresses, 50 to be constructed across the country

The progress of work on the 1,000 metric tonne prefabricated grain warehouses with capacity to store 20,000 bags of grains is progressing steadily.

This intervention is aimed at reducing post-harvest loses among small holder farmers and falls under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).

The Ministry of Special Development Initiatives is constructing 50 of such facility throughout the country with funding from the $1 million per constituency allocation.

Each facility will have the following features:

  1. Offices
  2. Laboratory
  3. Washroom
  4. Solar dryers
  5. Resting Area
  6. Fences with gatehouse
  7. Mechanized borehole.
