Passport validity increased from 5 to 10 years from March 2019

Government has extended the validity period for Ghanaian passports from 5 to 10 years and this will take effect from March 2019.

A fax message signed by the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Muhammad Habibu Tijani and addressed to all of Ghana’s missions abroad said government has taken the decision to extend the validity of ordinary passport booklets issued to qualified Ghanaian applicants from five to ten years, effective March 2019.

The statement said the processing fee remains unchanged until further notice and requested that the information be promptly communicated to all concerned.
