Outgoing Guinean Ambassador to Ghana cries at Jubilee House; says he’s sad he’s leaving Ghana

Mr. Arafan Kabine Kaba, the outgoing Guinean Ambassador to Ghana shocked many including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 8, 2019 when he openly shed tears during a farewell ceremony organized for him and other colleagues from other countries.

BestNewsGH.com can report Mr. Arafan Kabine Kaba who has been reassigned as the Guinean Ambassador to Switzerland as saying he was sad because he was leaving Ghana as he has learned a lot of things and was pushing a lot of people from his country to come here and see what was happening in the country.

“The reason why I am sad is that since I came here I have been learning. When I say I am proud of you, it is not a diplomatic word but very proud of what I am seeing here. My stay here was like a school and I learnt a lot and since then I am trying to push people from my country to come here and see what is going on in Ghana,” he noted whilst shedding tears.

He added that “I am a professional diplomat who has travelled all over the world, but what I have seen here, if I could send more people to come, see and learn, I will do that. This is my personal experience. I want you to tell the people here that you have a new ambassador because wherever I am, I consider myself as a Ghanaian ambassador.’’

Mr. Kabine Kaba who has been in the country for five and a half years said he was at the forefront of pushing Guineans to come to Ghana not just so they could lean the English language, but so that they could also learn about the historical relations between the Ghana and Guinea and how Ghanaians were developing with self-confidence.

He described Ghanaians as hardworking and patriotic people.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his part thanked the outgoing Guinean envoy for his kind compliments, explaining that the relationship between the two countries dates back to the days of Ghana’s first President Kwame Nkrumah and Guinea’s first president, Sekou Toure.
President Akufo-addo added that Ghanaians actually consider the people of Guinea as brothers and sisters, commending Mr. Kabine Kaba for his role in cementing the relations between Ghana and Guinea.

The president wished the Guinean Ambassador well in his now role as the Guinean Ambassador to Switzerland and representative at the United Nations office in Geneva.

Other ambassadors who are also leaving Ghana and were part of the farewell ceremony were the  Indian Ambassador to Ghana, Shri Birender Yadav and Olifemi Michael Abikoye from Nigeria.
