Oman Fm’s Kwabena Kwakye passes on

The Media fraternity in the country is in a state of shock, following the death of Martin Kwabena Kwakye popularly known as Wofa Kwabena Kwakye of Wofa KK of Oman Fm in Accra.

The veteran broadcaster was said to have slumped after his usual appearance on the Station’s flagship morning show programme, the National Agenda on Wednesday February 14, 2024.

He was however pronounced dead, after being rushed to the hospital.

In a widely circulated video on social media in what can be described as his last appearance on radio on Wednesday morning, Mr. Kwakye is seen sharing his thoughts on President Akufo-Addo’s reshuffle of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State.

Apart from his appearance on the National Agenda Programme every morning, Wofa Kwakye was also the host of popular political talk programme Boiling Point on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wofa Kwakye is a pioneer of Kencity Media Limited, the parent company of Oman Fm, Net2 TV and Ash Fm, after working with Adom Fm for several years.

He was the Director of Radio at Kencity Media and was appointed unto the Board of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) by President Akufo-Addo in 2017.
