Lashibi based Ahotor Fm, which belongs to the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has been shut down by Management of the station for what it says is a retooling exercise.
The station which has been off the airwaves since yesterday, Friday January 4, 2019 has raised concerns from sections of the public, particularly its listeners, and most of whom thought the action was taken by government against the station.
But in a statement issued and signed by the station’s general manager Michael Ologo, management explained that the closure was to enable them embark on a facelift retooling exercise aimed at serving loyal and faithful listeners and audience with the best programmes.

Your Favorite and Prime Radio Station , Ahotor 92.3 FM , will as from tomorrow 4th January 2019 embark on a facelift retooling exercise aimed to serve loyal and faithful listeners and audience the best of quality programming, as the station is set to fine – tune its hybrids transmitting equipments to give room for wider coverage, and for the listening pleasure of the station’s ardent audiences.
It is the desire and expectation of the board and management of one of Accra’s giant and fast rising – emerging Radio station crystal clear audible sound output, underpinned by variations and genres of quality music renditions, tough provoking programs, and revealing personalities on air, for information dissemination satisfaction, and marketplace values for our clients, and customer service delivery respectively.
Though the directive is not time bound as to the actual period of resuming from the reorganization process, it is our hope and aspirations, that Ahotor FM will bounce back within the shortest possible time, in full swing to serve its committed audience in the most profound and desirable way.
The management of the station is therefore, appealing to the general Public, and its enthusiastic followers to remain resolute and keep fate with the station with the hope of reverting to full transmission soon, and to thrill them with soothe listening contents, and delivering varieties.
