Leading Member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP and Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mr. Samuel Awuku has been called to the Ghana Bar.
Mr. Awuku was called to the Ghana Bar alongside some other prominent political personalities including the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and the Member of Parliament for Tafo, Hon. Ekow Vincent Asafuah, on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Mr. Awuku who took to his Facebook Page to share the good news with his friends and supporters, recalled the years of long hours of lectures, sleepless nights, engaging in unending group discussions and reading volumes of books, noting that all these have finally paid off.
He said ‘’ Years of long hours of lectures, sleepless nights, engaging in unending group discussions and reading volumes of books have finally paid off in birthing an added career path for us.’’
His call to the Bar as a Lawyer has taken many by surprise as they wonder how he was able to combine office work and party work with the strenuous drills that characterize studies at the Ghana School of Law. Indeed, he described the journey to becoming a lawyer as a daunting one saying ‘’Embarking on this journey was quite daunting.’’
This achievement could only come about as a result of hardwork, dedication, commitment and unyielding focus.
Lawyer Samuel Awuku expressed gratitude to all who in diverse ways contributed to the quest of becoming a lawyer.
He averred that ‘’I am immensely grateful to my lecturers, seniors, colleagues, and family, who played a significant role in attaining this success. Congratulations to my learned colleagues, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the MP for Tafo, Hon. Ekow Vincent Asafuah, and all the friends and colleagues who are being called to the bar today. May God’s light continue to guide us on this path we have chosen.’’
