N/R: 250 selected businesses from three northern regions receive support from government’s business support programme

Some 250 businesses from the Northern, Upper West and Upper East regions have received cheques for various sums through the Ministry for Business Development.

The money is part of government’s business support initiative under the Ministry for Business Development.

The Presidential Business Support Programme is an initiative of the Government to provide financial support to startups to facilitate private sector growth and job creation.

Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who presented the cheques to the businesses entreated the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in their businesses.

Earlier on, the vice president launched the Students Entrepreneurship initiative at the Ghana Senior High School in Tamale.

The Students Entrepreneurship Initiative he explained, is designed by the Ministry for Business Development and is aimed at encouraging students exiting Senior High Schools to develop an entrepreneurial mind and to prepare them to compete with the rest of the world.
