Having been ousted from power and taken to the Kobar maximum security prisons for various violations including the death of protesters during his reign, former Sudanese president Omar Al Bashir is facing fresh charges of money laundering.

This was after US 130 million dollars was found at his home,  according to prosecutors.

A source in Sudan’s judiciary told Reuters news agency that suitcases loaded with more than $351,000, €6m ($6.7m; £5.2m) and five billion Sudanese pounds ($105m) were found at Mr Bashir’s home.

The ex-leader was placed under house arrest after months of protests led to his removal. Mr Bashir is now being held at the Kobar high-security prison.

Men in Military uniforms who conducted the search in the ex-president’s home also found sack loads of money in various currencies.
