KRIF Ghana Limited is championing a new approach to organisational procurement with the launch of its first-ever Procurement Masterclass 2026, aimed at helping businesses and institutions make purchasing decisions based on value rather than price alone.
Scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Standard Height by Cleaver House, 42 Sekou Toure Street, Accra, the programme will bring together procurement professionals, managers, business owners and other decision-makers for a practical examination of how organisations can improve purchasing outcomes.
The masterclass, which begins at 8:00 a.m., is themed “Buying Better: Cost, Quality, Risk & Total Value in Workplace Procurement.”
At the heart of the programme is the recognition that the cheapest option is not necessarily the most economical choice for an organisation.
Participants will be taken through the concept of total cost of ownership, examining how purchase price, consumables, maintenance, downtime and eventual replacement can affect the true cost of a procurement decision.
The programme will also address supplier risk, including how organisations can assess reliability, warranty, after-sales service, authenticity, availability and supplier capacity before committing resources.
Another key focus will be improving procurement specifications without unnecessarily restricting competition, while ensuring that purchasing decisions are transparent, ethical and capable of demonstrating measurable value.
Unlike conventional lecture-based training, the masterclass will rely heavily on practical learning. Participants will work through procurement case studies, group exercises, simulations and real-life organisational scenarios.
The programme will feature sessions including “Beyond the Lowest Price,” “The Hidden Cost of Cheap” and “Procurement Without Regret,” followed by a Live Procurement Challenge and a Procurement Challenge Lab in which participants will tackle realistic procurement problems from planning through to award.
