The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery who has been accused of allegedly facilitating the bribery of some Ghanaian officials in order to secure a contract for a Turkish Energy firm, has denied any wrong doing.
Asante Berko has been cited for facilitating the payment of bribes totaling some $4.5M to some Ghanaian officials between 2015 and 2016.
But the TOR Boss explains in a statement issued a while ago and in possession of BestNewGH.com, that he has done nothing wrong and that the proceeding by the United States of America’s Securities and Exchange Commission came to him as a surprise.
‘’I state categorically that I have not paid any bribes to any government officials, Members of Parliament, nor any officials of Parliament. I have had no contact with Members of Parliament, nor officials of Parliament, regarding the approval of this transaction’’ he said in the statement.
