The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has bemoaned the poor economic situation in the country saying this Christmas is a dry one as there is no money in the system for people to celebrate the yuletide.
According to the loudmouth Member of Parliament who is also a businessman, he will not be able to go to his constituency to celebrate the yuletide with his constituents because he is broke.
‘’I promised my constituents, but I cannot even go to the constituency because I don’t have the money. There is no money in the system. The money is not reflecting in people’s pockets. So anyone who tells us we are doing well as an economy is deceiving us. They should stop that’’ he argued.
Mr. Agyapong is not happy that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank is praising and painting a good picture of the Ghanaian economy while the situation on the ground does not support the reality.
The IMF also said the country’s economy was on the right track and headed for the right direction.
Mr. Agyapong who was speaking on Accra based Adom TV, was reacting to comments by the IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde that the country’s economy is doing far better than it was doing 2 years ago.
