The Food and Drugs Authority has recalled some 16 tomato paste brands which have been found to contain some substances dangerous to human health.
A statement from the Authority and signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Delese Darko explained that the withdrawal of the affected brands became necessary after it was discovered that they contained ingredients such as starch and colour and therefore do not conform to the standards of tomato paste as prescribed by the appropriate statutes.
