The Convention People’s Party has underscored the important role Ghana has to play in helping Africa become a free and liberated continent.

A statement issued by the CPP and signed by its General Secretary, James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr. in commemoration of African Union Day recalled the words of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah which says “the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total liberation of the African Continent.”

The statement added that ‘’We urge the President to continue the efforts at pursuing the nation’s founding dream through tactical and cultural diplomacy bearing in mind that most of our differences were artificially engineered to subjugate and keep us divided’’.
