The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) says a memo making the rounds in the media about a supposed budget of 10 thousand, six hundred Ghana Cedis on feeding expenses for 8 persons has been doctored.

In a statement issued by the Authority, the GMA clarified that the amount covered three meetings on three different occasions and over forty stakeholders.

There were reports in the media about the Ghana Maritime Authority spending some 10 thousand, six hundred and fifty two Ghana Cedis, five pesewas for food in 8 people in a single meeting.

”The amount quoted in the memo was the cost of food for different meetings (management and stakeholders ) held on the 31st of October 2017, 6th November 2017 and 8 November 2017 and couldn’t have been for eight (8) persons in a single meeting as purported in the publication” the statement explained.

The Authority says the story is untrue and cannot be a true reflection of transactions that transpired as far as the subject is concerned and urged the public to treat the publication with the contempt it deserves.
