Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has eulogized the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Hassan Tampuli for saving Ghana a whopping $300 Million which would have been lost through fraudulent activities in the petroleum sector.

BestNewsGH.com reports Mr. Cudjoe as saying but for the vigilance of the NPA Boss, the country would have lost the amount this year alone.

He said on his social media handle that “Another man doing well in curbing waste is CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, Hassan Tampuli. But for his vigilance, Ghana would be losing over $300m to fuel fraud this year.’’

He described Mr. Tampuli’s action as selfless and patriotic, and not self-seeking selfish interest as is the case with some state institutions.

BestNewsGH.com can confirm that Mr. Cudjoe however did not indicate which incident specifically that would have led to the loss of the $300 million, apart from the elements of under declaration and mislabeling by miscreants among others, with a view to beating the system.

The Man Hassan Tampuli

A Private Legal Practitioner, Mr. Tampuli emerged as the Chief Executive Officer of the NPA in 2017, upon the assumption of office of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He has since been at the forefront of championing the fight against the smuggling of fuel products, introducing several measures and actions to curb the menace.

At the 9th edition of the Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives Awards in 2019, Mr. Tampuli was adjudged the outstanding Petroleum CEO.

That event saw 41 CEO’s from both the public and private sectors receiving honours for their achievements and contribution to the growth of their respective organisations.

Mr. Tampuli has also won several international awards for his spectacular role in the growth of the NPA.
