A family member of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) driver, Kwabena Boateng, who defrauded a pastor and absconded has revealed to the Chronicle that there was a prophecy that he would disappear because of a matter he would be linked to and which will be too big for him to handle.

The same person, The Chronicle gathers is allegedly involved in other crimes also under investigation.

Already GPHA has terminated his appointment effective the 6th of May 2019 for absenting himself from duty without permission for eighteen (18) consecutive days from 7th April 2019.

Management of the authority stated that “Your conduct is in breach of Article 14 Section 1 of the current Collective Agreement in force”.

According to the family source, Kwabena Boateng, aka Kobby’s  pregnant girlfriend (name withheld) visited a pastor in one of Accra’s suburbs for prayers.

The source went on that the man of God reportedly informed the pregnant young woman that the father of the child she was bearing would runaway from her as a result of an incident.

The girlfriend, according to the family source, appealed unsuccessfully to Kobby for them to go back to the man of God who prophesized the disappearance to see if the issue that could cause the abscondment could be mitigated.

On the 5th of March 2019, the girlfriend gave birth and exactly a month later, 4th April 2019, Kobby who is presently on the radar of the Criminal Investigation  Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, is alleged to have defrauded another man of God, Pastor Richard Oduro of God’s Ambassador Church in Tema Community 9.

Having earlier reportedly introduced himself to the pastor through an accommodation agent, one Sarkodie, as owner of an apartment in Community 11 which he was offering for rent, on the said day went to the church office and was handed NIB cheque with face value of Ghc 15,000 (Fifteen thousand Ghana Cedis ).

On the 6th of April, 2019, two days after cashing the cheque, Kobby’s  whereabout has not been known till now.

The Chronicle has information about how Kobby as an employee of GPHA secured some huge unspecified amount as loan from a popular bank in Tema on his way out.

Meanwhile, the Electricity Company of Ghana, (ECG) is also investigating alleged illegal connection the fugitive former driver of the ports authority effected at the apartment he fraudulently gave out for rent to Pastor Oduro.

The actual landlady is now at the mercy of the state power distributors who wanted her to cough an amount of Ghc 11,000.00 (Eleven thousand Ghana Cedis ) representing the illegal consumption of electricity.
