Female school drop-outs to go back to school as first lady launches ‘because I want to be’ project

Adolescent girls who have dropped out of school have the chance to go back to school, thanks to the ‘Because I want to be’ project which was launched by the first lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The project targets such girls and affords them the opportunity to pick up the pieces and go back into the classroom to complete their studies.

Nine communities along the coast of Greater Accra Region will benefit from this initiative.

Performing the launch yesterday Tuesday December 11, 2018, the first lady said ‘’a higher education in girls will give them a better chance on improving their lives contribute to national development’’.
