The Police Administration has created a new administrative region, the first since 1966, as part of efforts to ensure effective and efficient policing across the country.
The new region, carved out of its existing Central Regional Command, has been named Central East Region.
The Ag. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Kwadwo Otchere Boapeah, as the new Central East Regional Police Commander.
Dr Dampare has also named Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Oduro Amaning and Chief Superintendent Theophilus Hlomanu as the Deputy Regional Commander.
