The National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Sammi Awuku has charged the people of the Western Region not be deceived by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

According to the workaholic NPP National Organiser, the NDC and its Flagbearer have a long history of ‘’Promise and Fail’’ dating back to 2008 during which they promised to turnaround the fortunes of small-scale miners and mining communities, but never fulfilled that promise.

Addressing gatherings of party members, supporters and sympathizers across various constituencies in the Western Region, the iconic and charismatic NPP National Organiser averred that the NDC again promised to pay Assembly Members monthly salaries in 2012, but failed to fulfill that one too, a promise that has once again featured in the array of promises being made in their 2020 campaign.

‘’The NDC promised a one-time premium for the National Health Insurance Scheme and this promise was never kept. So how can you trust a party that has never delivered on any of its promises?’’ Mr. Awuku quizzed.

Mr. Awuku said unlike the NDC which promised and failed to better the fortunes of mining communities, the NPP has lived up to the billing by establishing the University of Mines in Tarkwa with the sole aim of teaching and training the youth on proper and standard mining practices to ensure the environment and water bodies are protected.

He said with the forward-looking, human-centred and development-oriented policies being championed by the current government under President Akufo-Addo, the future of the youth and the country can only be bright.

‘’Job creation is one of the critical areas government and the NPP is not relenting on, and we have a deliberate plan that will see over Seven Hundred and Eighty Thousand (780,000) jobs created in the Western Region alone next year, through the establishment of an Oil Hub’’ Mr. Awuku told the gathering.

Mr. Awuku cited the Free Senior High School Programme, the Planting for Food and Jobs, subsidies on fertilizer for Cocoa farmers, and Free Water and Electricity as ample evidence of the good stewardship of the current government and President.

He added that ‘’Vote number one on Election day for President Akufo-Addo and your Parliamentary candidate. A vote for Akufo-Addo and your Parliamentary candidate is a vote for the future of this country and its youth. We’re are all enjoying these good policies of the government because we voted right in 2016. Let us repeat it again in this year’s lection to guarantee a bright and great future for our country’’.

Mr. Awuku while in the Western Region toured the Wassa East, Shama, Mpohor, Kwesimintim, Jomoro, Ellembelle, Evalue Ajomoro Gwira, Prestea Huni Valley, Amenfi West and Amenfi East Constituencies.

He also interacted with various groups including drivers and small-scale miners among others.
