The Founder and President of pressure group, Concerned Voters Movement (CVM), Mr. Razak Kojo Opoku has touted the significance, relevance and importance of political party footsoldiers and grassroots supporters.

According to him, it is these two cardinal players in the political space who are king makers, without whom politicians have no power, position or authority.

In a write-up sighted by BestNewsGH.com, Mr. Kojo Opoku said the very existence of politicians and the political parties they represent is solely dependent on the grassroot supporters and footsoldiers of the parties.

Read his full write-up below:

All Politicians derive their Power, Authority, influence, Position and legitimacy from the ordinary people especially the grassroots and party footsoldiers. But it is trite knowledge that we normally look down upon, disrespect and pay no attention to the genuine concerns, needs and critical issues affecting these all important and relevant groups.

Politicians must understand that political power is not the same as spiritual power or traditional power. Political power emanates from the people who we always go to for renewal of mandate. Spiritual power is divine and God freely gives to whoever He desires, “for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, says Romans 11:29.  We campaign for political power, not spiritual power or traditional power. Traditional power is by inheritance.

Political Power resides in the people. God allows people to choose whoever are deemed fit for leadership,” for the voice of the people is the voice of God”

Most Politicians DO NOT APPRECIATE and RESPECT the GRASSROOTS and FOOTSOLDIERS.

The SOURCE of whatever power or influence and position a Politician occupies is the People, the GRASSROOTS/FOOTSOLDIERS.

We should not be oblivious of the fact that without the support of Party footsoldiers and Grassroots, no Party can win Political Power. The time to recognize the relevance and importance of political party footsoldiers and grassroots is now. Ghana’s political space has evolved over the years and one of the critical, key and cardinal players are the footsoldiers and grassroots of the political parties.

Indeed, there is no gain saying that without these key players (Footsoldiers and grassroot supporters) there can be no pollical party.
